When we are trying to control life, we are removed from presence, and act in ways that separate us from others and solidify the old negative beliefs we often carry about being not good enough. From this doubt, we may seek power, we may try to control life, and run from hard things inside of us that hurt. We may feel we live on the hamster wheel, constantly running, never truly connected to ourselves and to the world.
But what if we were a heart that is ready for anything? What if we reconnected to our true nature, our inner wild, wisdom, and universal glow of love and creativity? This could be called empowered spirituality to live a life where we feel inner empowerment to be free to respond to life with a heart that is ready for anything. Today’s guest Deb Matlock is here to talk to us about our inner wildness and how that relates to an empowered spirituality and connection to all of life.
When I met Deb, it was an instant knowing that she was a woman of quiet strength and a heart that is ready for anything. Deb embodies empowered spirituality and it was an honor to explore our inner nature together.
In this podcast you will learn:
- How we can discover our own inner rhythms and allow that rhythm to lead us to our soul purpose
- Unique tips for connecting with your inner nature on a daily basis to get quiet in a chaotic world
- How the power of animals and nature can rewild our spirits to living a life of purpose and open-heartedness
- How a connection to Spirit and empowered spirituality enables us to live our lives in service

Divorce is often a transition that brings many women and men to their knees. It is a transition that calls upon us to sift through the ashes of our marriage and find our voice, our authenticity, and our deep love for ourselves.
My next guest, Michelle Pegues knows the journey of transition. Her story is deep and I imagine it is very familiar to our listeners. Michelle has been through divorce and through her story, you will see how her transition brought her back to unwavering confidence and self-love. She has discovered her roots that hold her when life brings storms.
Michelle is a certified women’s empowerment and relationship coach. She is helping women to step back into their power and reclaim their worth after divorce so they can find the love and companionship they desire without all the self-doubt and sacrifice.
Her personal journey from overcoming the loss of miscarriage, divorce, depression, and narcissistic abuse, to creating the life of her dreams as a mother, business owner, and finding an incredible, aligned partner has inspired her mission to empower women to rewrite their stories and create the life and love of their dreams.

The Midlife Awakening

Have you ever felt like: “I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” or “I’ve tried so many ways to make it better, yet I still don’t feel successful in a single area of my life,” or “I’m working myself to the point of exhaustion and still messing things up”?
Hundreds of bright, creative, invested, high-functioning women, don’t merely feel overwhelmed by their lives. They feel oppressed by them. They’re being asked to climb mountains alone with huge suitcases tied to their backs and can’t understand why they feel so exhausted. They are supposed to work and take care of the family and household without a village. They are supposed to do life without breaks and often don’t feel worthy of nourishment or rest. I say the word oppressed, and you may think, I am not oppressed. I am a free person. But when you woke up this morning, did you really feel free? Did you know that oppression is defined as “the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.”
Anxiety? Heavy burdens? This describes the experiences of most women I know. (The fact that so many women experience high levels of anxiety, loneliness, overwhelm, and stress on a daily basis is not simply par for the course when we sign up for this journey. It’s a red flag of collective distress. It’s evidence that something’s wrong with the circumstances within which we are living.)
My guest today, Jess Bonasso, is passionate about a new midlife crisis that is happening in our world, and the brave way to end it once and for all. If you are an overreaching woman that is ready for a compassionate and realistic new form of self-care, then you will want to listen to this podcast today!

Your loved one died? Oh, let me give you some advice… You should be crying more. You should not be crying so much. You should not be back at work. You should get on with your life. You should not still be feeling this sad. You should, should, should…. When it comes to grief we are bombarded with conflicting messages, everyone’s opinion, and frankly a whole lot of should. However, in the words of Nietzsche — 'You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.’
